MAGC Elizabeth Mosley Memorial Scholarship
MAGC awards at least one student scholarship annually for use at a Mississippi summer program for gifted students. This scholarship is provided to students who would not be able to otherwise attend summer programs due to financial considerations. The nomination must be submitted by the student's teacher. Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Young Scholars Program
The Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Young Scholars program selects high-achieving youth with financial need and provides them with individualized educational services throughout high school that will enable them to develop their talents and abilities. The Young Scholars Program is one of the most individualized scholarships offered in the United States. The Foundation collaborates with regional talent centers at Duke, Johns Hopkins, and Northwestern Universities, and the University of Denver to answer inquiries about the program, administer the application process, and counsel Young Scholars. However, applicants need not be part of the talent centers' programs to be eligible for or participate in the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Young Scholars Program. Students in the 7th grade—or who will enter 8th grade next fall—are eligible to apply and applications will be available in February.

Duke University Talent Identification Program
The Duke University Talent Identification Program (Duke TIP) 7th Grade Talent Search season has begun. Now in its 27th year, it is the largest program of its kind in the nation. In addition to providing an opportunity to experience taking a college admissions test, the 7th Grade Talent Search is a gateway to educational programs and resources for gifted students. Participants also receive recognition for their academic achievement and hard work. To be eligible, a student must be in the 7th grade and must have scored at the 95th percentile or higher on a grade level standardized achievement, aptitude, mental ability test battery or approved state criterion-referenced test. Talent Search brochures and applications have been sent to all schools hosting a 7th grade in your state. Students can also register online through Duke TIP’s Web site. This year’s talent search deadlines are October 1 for December testing and November 1 for January SAT or February ACT testing. MAGC Scholarships for Educators
In order to recognize excellence in teaching/administration in the area of gifted education and to encourage the pursuit of advanced study in gifted education, MAGC awards annual grants for teacher education.

The $300 scholarship/grant is presented to an experienced teacher or administrator with gifted certification to pursue additional training in gifted education. Requirements for the scholarship are to be an active MAGC Member, have at least two years of teaching experience in the area of gifted education, be  enrolled or planning to enroll in a course/workshop for advanced study of gifted education, and have a history of attendance at conferences and/or workshops that pertain to gifted education.

The Teacher Grant for Continuing Education is awarded to experienced teachers/administrators with gifted certification to pursue additional training in gifted education.
The Grant for Teacher to Pursue Gifted Education is awarded to experienced regular classroom teachers to pursue gifted certification.

Frances A. Karnes Award for Excellence in Gifted Education
In order to recognize and encourage outstanding, creative actions on behalf of gifted students in our state, MAGC presents the Frances A. Karnes Award for Excellence in Gifted Education at the annual conference. An individual teacher, group of teachers,
parent(s), affiliate group, school administrator, or any individual or group of individuals who has made a significant contribution toward the improvement of educational programs or events for gifted students is eligible for nomination. Nominations are accepted from superintendents, school administrators, affiliate groups, or members. An individual/group may receive this award only once. Click here for a list of previous winners. Sherrye C. Thompson Parent Advocacy Award
In order to recognize and encourage outstanding parent advocacy on behalf of gifted students in our state, MAGC presents the the Sherrye C. Thompson Parent Advocacy Award at the annual conference. Nomination letters are accepted from superintendents, school administrators, affiliate groups, or members of MAGC. An individual/group may only receive this award once. Outstanding Educator, Administrator for Gifted Education Recognition
This is your opportunity to honor individuals who show unflinching support for gifted children.  Nominate an outstanding superintendent, principal, legislator, community member, or parent who is an advocate for gifted education. Conrad Castle Teacher Grant
The Conrad Castle Teacher Grant was developed in 2010 by Mississippi Association for Gifted Children to honor Dr. Castle’s dedicated service to the gifted children of Mississippi and to assist teachers of gifted children in the acquisition of appropriate materials designed to challenge intellectually or academically gifted children.
